After the BCCI released the IPL 2026 Schedule, The Five-time Champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be playing their first match of IPL 2026 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 29, 2026, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. IPL 2026 is all set to start from March 28, 2026, and the first match will be played between RCB and SRH at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

As of now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have only announced the IPL 2026 Schedule for the first 20 games, while the remaining part will be released soon, as state elections will happen during the same window, so the IPL governing body is waiting for the official dates to release the full IPL 2026 Schedule.

In the IPL 2025, the Mumbai Indians played quite decent cricket, and they also qualified for the Playoffs, but unfortunately lost the game against the Punjab Kings in the Qualifiers 2. However, Mumbai have plenty of quality players, and now, they have almost filled their gaps for the new season and will be looking for a strong comeback or may lift their sixth title.

MI to Start their IPL 2026 Journey at Home

The Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their IPL 2026 campaign at home against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 29. Then, Mumbai will play two away games against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals on April 04 & April 07, 2026, respectively. MI will play their last match of the first phase of the IPL 2026 against their arch-rivals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on April 12, 2026, at Wankhede.

The Mumbai Indians have a balanced squad for the IPL 2026. Hardik Pandya will be leading the side while experienced players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah will play important roles in the team. MI have a strong batting lineup which includes talented players like Tilak Verma, Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks.
