All ten teams are set to announce their list of release and retain players on November 15, which is the deadline for the franchises set by the BCCI. The IPL 2026 auction is all set to take place on December 15 in Abu Dhabi.
Even before the IPL 2026 auction and retention deadline, there has been a buzz of trade as well. A lot of trades happened as well and the franchises made full use of the trade window, which saw as many as ten trades happening.
On November 15, Chennai Super Kings confirmed the development of trade with Sanju Samson joining them. In place of him, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran moved to the Rajasthan Royals. This possibly would be one of the biggest trades in the history of the league.
