Latest Asia Cup 2025 Points Table Updated After Pakistan National Cricket Team Crushed UAE to Reserve their Super 4 Spot
A delayed toss, early wickets, and a lot of drama, but the Pakistan National Cricket Team still managed to register their name for the Super 4s from Group A. Though UAE put forth a good fight with the ball and bat, all-rounder Shaheen Shah took it all away from UAE, and Pakistan won the match by 41 runs.
The match was delayed by an hour as the Pakistan National Cricket Team showed their protest against the match referee, Andy Pycroft. After an hour of delay, UAE won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Saim Ayub is really having a bad tournament, and this was his third consecutive time when he got out for a duck.

After two early wickets, Fakhar Zaman and Salman Agha revived the innings. The middle order again struggled with the bat, and again, Shaheen Shah exploded with the bat, playing a crucial knock of 29 runs off 14 balls.
UAE had 147 to chase for a SUPER 4 ticket, and they got a decent start as well (20 runs in the first two overs without losing wickets). However, they lost three wickets after that inside the batting powerplay. Rahul and Dhruv then stitched a partnership of 48 runs, but that wasn't enough as Pakistani bowlers bounced back soon with a flurry of wickets, and UAE were bowled out for 105.
Pakistan National Cricket Team won the match by 41 runs and booked their SUPER 4 ticket.

Why Pakistan vs UAE Started Late Then Usual?
It all started when the Indian Cricket Team refused to shake hands with the Pakistani players after the match on the 14th. It was evident by Surya's post-match speech that this was intentional. Pakistan got upset with this humiliation and demanded match referee be changed. Below is the timeline of how the events passed:
September 14: Tensions flared when Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha refused to attend the post-match presentation. The move came after India declined the customary handshake, leaving Pakistan’s camp upset. Coach Mike Hesson publicly voiced his frustration, saying such acts hurt the spirit of the game.
September 15: The Pakistan Cricket Board escalated matters. Team manager Naveed Cheema lodged a complaint with the ICC, accusing match referee Andy Pycroft of not handling the situation evenly. PCB further demanded Pycroft’s immediate removal from overseeing their Asia Cup fixtures, signaling how deeply the non-handshake incident had rattled them.
September 16: The ICC dismissed PCB’s request, standing by Pycroft. In response, PCB threatened to boycott their match against UAE if Pycroft remained in charge. They canceled their scheduled press briefing but still went ahead with the nets. Later, PCB sent another formal letter repeating their demand.
September 17: Drama continued on matchday. Pakistan’s team bus stayed put at the hotel longer than expected, fueling speculation of a boycott. Eventually, the players boarded, though this delay forced the game to start an hour late, leaving fans and organizers in suspense until the last moment.
