IPL 2021: KKR batsman Rahul Tripathi penalized for not wearing a mask during Lockdown.

IPL 2021: Indian cricketer Rahul Tripathi was on Friday penalised by the Maharashtra Police for allegedly not following the Covid and lockdown norms. Tripathi was spotted driving his car without wearing a mask in Pune’s Kondhwa area.

The 30-years old Cricketer features for Shahrukh Khan owned IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and his domestic team Maharashtra.

The group of policemen were inspecting the Kondhwa area of Pune to take note of the protocols and covid norms are being followed or not.

Although the covid cases in the country are slowly coming down, there is still a need for strict protocols and guidelines. In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 173,790 fresh covid cases with over 3,500 deaths.

According to the police report, Tripathi was not wearing his mask while roaming around in his car at Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa.

“The cricketer Tripathi was not wearing a face mask and was driving around without any reason during the lockdown. There were some other persons in the car,” said senior inspector Sardar Patil of Kondhwa police station.

Police further said that the cricketer was fined Rupees 500 for violating the protocols amid the ravaging pandemic and was also issued the receipt.
