Mitchell Starc is the leading wicket-taker in Ashes 2025-26.
Australian Cricket Team fast bowler Mitchell Starc created the world record as he went past Wasim Akram in the massive feat in Test cricket. He is now the left-arm pacer with most wickets in the longest format of the game.
Mitchell Starc created the world record in the second match of Ashes 2025-26 against England Cricket Team. The match between the two teams, which is also a pink-ball match, is taking place at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Mitchell Starc looked in great touch right from the start as he removed Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope for ducks in his first two overs. Then later on, he sent Harry Brook packing to go past Wasim Akram’s tally to become the left-arm pacer with most wickets in the longest format of the game.
Mitchell Starc went past Wasim Akram’s tally of 414 wickets in the longest format and with the way he is going, he is expected to go past 500 wickets with ease. He has been in the red-hot form in the Ashes 2025-26 as he has bowled brilliantly.
In the first match in Perth, Starc took ten wickets in the match including seven wickets in the opening innings. In the pink-ball test too, he has looked a class apart and will be holding key for his team in the entire series.
Most Test wickets by a left-arm fast bowler
Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath is the leading wicket-taker in terms of left-arm bowlers in tests. He is followed by Mitchell Starc and Wasim Akram.
