IPL 2026 points table after GT vs RCB, match 42: Gujarat Titans take their REVENGE as they thump Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad
GT vs RCB saw Gujarat Titans winning the clash by 4 wickets.
Gujarat Titans emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League. The Shubman Gill-led side registered a four-wicket win at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Put into bat, Bengaluru got all out for just 155, in response, Gujarat chased the target inside 16 overs.
Bengaluru were off to a flying start with the bat, courtesy of Virat Kohli (28), who hit five boundaries against Kagiso Rabada in a single over. Jacob Bethell yet again failed to make an impact and the opening wicket opened the floodgates for Bengaluru.
Devdutt Padikkal (40) played a solid hand at three and had stitched Rajat Patidar (19). However, the controversial dismissal of Patidar derailed Bengaluru’s innings as none of the batters after that could go past 20 run-mark. Gujarat ended Bengaluru’s innings on 155 with Arshad Khan being the pick of the bowlers.
Shubman Gill (43) was at his best in the chase as he played gorgeous shots to take his team off to a flying start. Although, Gujarat lost Sai Sudharsan early, they still had an opening stand of 42 runs. Jos Buttler (39played well for his 39, but Bengaluru made a strong comeback and picked quick wickets, leaving Gujarat at 111 for five.
However, with not many runs under their belt, Bengaluru failed to put pressure with Rahul Tewatia (27 not out:17b, 4x4) playing a vital hand to take his team home with four wickets in hand.
