IPL 2026 auction to take place on December 13-15, CSK’s list of released players leaked
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is still around the corner but the preparations for the tournament have kicked started. The focus will be on the auction as there will be some of the key players that will be on the radar of some of the franchises.
As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the IPL 2026 auction is likely to be held in the second or third week of December. Although there is no confirmation about the dates, it is learned that December 13-15 are the possible dates on which the auction might take place.
Since the last few years, the IPL auction has been taking place outside India but a mini-auction is being scheduled for this year, and it is learned that there are chances that the auction might take place in India itself.
The reports also claimed that the governing body has given the retention deadline of November 15 to franchises. All the teams will have to submit their list of retained and released players. Some of the big overseas players, who weren’t part of the league last time around, are expected to be there.
Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, and Devon Conway from Chennai Super Kings are all set to be released
It is learned that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are the two franchises that are all set to have major changes. Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, and Devon Conway from Chennai Super Kings are all set to be released.
While, Sanju Samson, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana are also set to be released. T Natarajan, Mitchell Starc, Akash Deep, Mayank Yadav and David Miller are some of the other names that will be released by their respective franchises.
Cameron Green, who is one of the best all-rounders in the world currently, is expected to be one of the expensive picks in the IPL 2026 auction. The reports claimed that he has already attracted interest from several teams and he is sure to be hotly pursued.
