Virat Kohli: The 43rd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was arguably one of the best games of the season. The competition between bat and ball was enthralling to watch. In the end, it was the brilliance of RCB bowlers, which outclassed the opposition and won the game for his side.

The game not only saw staggering competition between bat and ball but it took a whole different scene after Virat Kohli engaged in a verbal spat with LSG pacer Naveen Ul Haq and mentor Gautam Gambhir. Things didn’t look with other players separating them and cooling the situation.

It all started in the 17th over of the LSG innings when Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq had a heated exchange of words and the RCB batter gave with a serious stare. The on-field barrel then spilled over when players of both teams were shaking hands after the game.

As Naveen and Virat passed and shook hands with each other, the LSG pacer pushed the batter and said something to him. This didn’t go well with Virat Kohli, who returned the favour and had some hard words to say to the pacer.

But after things were settled, Virat Kohli then had a verbal spat with LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. The two also exchanged some heated words before they were separated from their teammates. As a result of the quarrel, the two were fined 100% of their match fees whereas the pacer copped a 50% penalty.

Batting first, after winning the toss, RCB had yet another solid opening partnership as skipper Faf du Plessis (44) and Virat Kohli (31) smashed 62 runs. However, after that, no one carried the momentum and could manage just 126 runs in their quota of 20 overs. For LSG, Naveen Ul Haq was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets to his name.

RCB then came out all guns blazing with the ball as they produced a staggering bowling effort that saw them bundling out the opposition for just 108 runs. Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma picked two wickets each whereas Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel picked one wicket each as they bowled out the opposition for a low score to win the game by 18 runs.
