Royal Challengers Bangalore: The injury scare at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is turning from bad to worse. While many superstars were ruled out even before the start of the tournament, a few have suffered injuries after playing one or two games. Talking about Royal Challengers Bangalore they are playing without their star players in Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasranga and now Reece Topley too will miss the tournament. While the Australian pacer and Sri Lanka spinner are expected to join the team soon, the English pacer has been ruled out. The RCB kick-started their tournament with a dominating win against MI but suffered a loss in their second game. They have a good side this time around and if they play well, it’s quite safe to say that they can end their title hunt this season.
IPL2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore reportedly sign Wayne Parnell as a replacement for Reece Topley
Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a major blow after their pacer Reece Topley was ruled out of the IPL 2023. The pacer dislocated his shoulder while fielding during the side’s first game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
It was expected that he would miss a few games before getting for future matches. But batting coach Sanjay Bangar while giving the interview during RCB’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) revealed that Topley has been ruled out of the tournament:
Bangar also quipped that team will be announcing a replacement soon and it is learned as per the reports in ClubCricketSA, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have roped in South African all-rounder Wayne Parnell as his replacement. Although there’s no official confirmation, if the reports emerged to be true, it’ll be a great signing for the team.

Parnell has been going through fine form with the ball. His ability to swing the ball could be handy for RCB and could fill the void left by Topley. Also, his batting down the order would strengthen the team more. represented the Delhi Capitals andPune Warriors in the IPL, picking 26 wickets in 26 games.

After a dominating win against Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a humiliating loss against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. They bowled staggering well but could continue on the momentum. On the other hand with the bat, it was a horrendous outing as they were bundled out for just 123 runs, losing the game by 81 runs.
