IPL 2023 Auction Updates: The preparations for the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Auction are going on in full swing. With each passing day, the excitement amongst the fans is growing manyfold for the bidding event. Just like any other season of the IPL, the BCCI won’t leave a single stone unturned to make it a mega success. This article will lead you through IPL 2023 Auction Updates: Player Registration Deadline, Remaining Purse Value.

The Tata IPL 2023 Auction is set to be held on 23rd December in Kochi. Unlike last year, the upcoming auction will have a small pool of players. This is due to the fact that all ten IPL teams have a settled core of players.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set December 15 as the last date to enrol for the IPL 2023 Auction. All the players who want to take part in the auction process will have to register their names on or before December 15, 2022. Following the registration, the bidding will be held for those players who have shown interest in featuring in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Notably, the likes of Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Cameron Green are going to be the most sought players for this upcoming auction. All the aforementioned players are in great touch and have drawn the curiosity of multiple IPL teams.

England’s former test skipper Joe Root will also be seen taking part in the IPL 2023 Auction. Root has enrolled himself for the auction and is excited about his maiden IPL stint if he gets a buyer.

As per a few reports, the IPL franchises are not happy with BCCI conducting IPL 2023 auction on December 23. The event is close to Christmas and the majority of the IPL franchise may have to lose their foreign officials due to the festival.

“December 15 is player registration deadline. We expect some top players to enrol. As for the auction date, December 23 is the set date for now. We are discussing some franchises’ requests to advance the date. But there are other factors involved. Only after deliberation with all stakeholders, we will come to a decision,” a BCCI official told InsideSport.
