IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in match number 58 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in the DY Patil Sports Academy. The low scoring contest between the two teams was won by Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets chasing the total in just 18.1 overs.

After winning the toss, Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant decided to bowl first. DC had a perfect start as they picked up dangerman Jos Buttler in the third over. R Ashwin was promoted to anchor the innings and the right-handed perfectly fulfilled his job as he scored a half-century.

Meanwhile, wickets began to fall from the other end. Devdutt Padikkal showed some resistance and scored 48 runs from 30 deliveries, however, he couldn’t control the fall of the wickets.

As a result, Rajasthan Royals (RR) could score just 160 runs in the loss of six wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

Chasing a low total is always tricky, especially in the slower tracks. DC lost its first wicket in the opening over as Srikar Bharat was dismissed by Trent Boult for a 2-ball duck. However, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh performed a rescue operation and brought DC on track once again following a couple of brilliant overs from Rajasthan.

Once the two Aussies settled they began accumulating runs on every opportunity given by the opposition. Marsh played the aggressor’s role, scoring 89 from 62 deliveries while Warner anchored the innings with his unbeaten 52 from 41 balls.

Skipper Rishabh Pant tonked two massive sixes to Yuzvendra Chahal in the 18th over and finished things for his team with a crucial two points.
