IPL 2021 will be delayed for at least 2 weeks with respect to the previous season

IPL 2021 will be conducted in India only, Expected dates for IPL 2021, Reports.

IPL 2021 Expected Date and Host Country: BCCI is likely to conduct the fourteenth season of IPL in India only. With the recent development on the homecoming of international cricket, the England tour of India 2021 is all set to begin in February 2021.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the itinerary for the England tour of India on Thursday that subsequently gave hints on the IPL 2021.

England will tour India for the four-game Test series, five T20Is, and three ODIs. The tour will begin with Tests starting February 5. The whole tour will be played in just three venues with Gujrat’s Motera Stadium will be the busiest one.

India vs England series will end with the three game ODI series on March 28. However, the players will get much needed rest before IPL 2021.

Expected Dates for IPL 2021:

Earlier, it was expected that BCCI might organize IPL from the end of March but after the India-England series announcement, it seems that the Indian T20 League will kick off from the second week of April.

The most probable date for the series to begin is 10th April. Taking into account that previously conducted seasons have more or less started in the second week of April.

Will India Host 2021 IPL?

India will be the probable country to host IPL because the time after the India-England series will be too short to travel to another country. Not more than two weeks will be available for the players and management to gel in with the whole squads.

In such a short time, it will be a tough thing to do. While BCCI would want to organize the Indian T20 league in India only to reduce the extra cost of traveling and UAE grounds.

However, the final decision will be released after the Annual General Meeting held on 24th December. The addition of two teams is expected but it can delay due to the lack of time.

Ahmedabad will be one to get franchise. while Pune, Kanpur, Lucknow will be the other one.

If IPL expands, BCCI would give some time to players to jell in with their new franchise.
