The Mumbai based young cricketer is an integral part of the franchise. Iyer was given the responsibility to lead the side midway in 2018 and in just two years he showed encouraging results to the franchise.

Under the eyes of head coach Ricky Ponting, Shreyas took the side to the playoffs in IPL 2019 and finals in the IPL 2020. The leadership role with the given time has improved and will see some more in the near future.

The skipper in IPL 2020 led the side scoring 519 runs in 17 encounters and featured at 4th number in the list of Highest run-getters. Delhi once again will occupy him and make the squad around him.

The “Gabbar” of Indian Cricket proved his mettle in the IPL 2020 season with the bat. Sometimes he looked off but he answered the critics with the back-to-back two centuries in IPL. He became the first-ever batsman in the history of IPL to hit back to back tons.

His under pressure determination to score runs lifted him to the number 2 position in the list of highest run-getters in the thirteenth edition of IPL. He managed to get 618 runs in 17 games with a strike rate of 144.

Kagiso Rabada:

Delhi Capitals will never want to take an unwise decision to leave a South African pacer as they did with Trent Boult. Kagiso Rabada displayed a brutal consistency in the IPL. He not only picked the most wickets but also became the second most consistent bowler after Dwayne Bravo in IPL.

Rabada in 17 outings picked 30 scalps with an economy of 8.34. Delhi would definitely want to collect the services of pacer yet again.

Definitely a forgetful season for Delhi’s wicketkeeper-batsman. Rishabh Pant was not in a good form the whole season except the finals where the southpaw managed to get to the fifty under pressure. However, the young lad showed how dangerous he can be in the IPL 2019.

In 14 appearances he managed to middle 343 runs with a poor average of 31. The franchise should give a chance to the batsman and will keep him ahead of IPL 2021.
