IPL 2021: MS Dhoni begins his IPL 2021 training at the nets.

IPL 2021: The fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has started his training. According to the reports, three times champion side has started training in its nets in MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai.

As reported by PTI, MS Dhoni along with other CSK cricketers including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, N Jagadeesan, R Sai Kishore, C Hari Nishaanth, and Harishankar Reddy were seen practising for the forthcoming tournament. All the players, staff have cleared the Covid-19 RT-PCR tests before touching the nets at Chennai.

“The CSK players completed their quarantine requirements and began practice yesterday. Gradually, the others will join the camp after a period of quarantine,” Reddy said.

CSK CEO K Viswanathan further claimed that other remaining players of the franchise will arrive in the next three to four days.

CSK’s IPL 2021 Misery:

IPL 2020 was a forgetful event for MS Dhoni and Co. A series of bad things started to take place for three times champions.

Starting with players getting Covid-19 inside the camp in UAE. The reports from UAE showed that as many as 13 members from CSK management have been infected with Covid-19. These numbers include both players and support staff.

Soon after the news of infection came out, Senior player Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh decided to pull out from the delayed season of IPL. Both the senior players left the UAE and flew back home.

CSK for the first time could not penetrate the door of playoffs. CSK suffered a huge loss last time, however, there were some good take-backs from the season.

CSK found Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sam Curran as their important young guns for the upcoming season. Gaikwad smashed three back-to-back half-centuries to cement his place while Sam Curran performed brilliantly in all the positions.

CSK this time will be keen on bouncing back to the Indian T20 League. With senior players back into the squad and the likes of new recruit Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chennai has bolstered their squad.

The IPL 2021 campaign for CSK will begin on 10th April against the runner up of IPL 2020. CSK and Delhi Capitals will lock horns in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
