IPL 2021: 3 players Delhi Capitals might target in IPL 2021 mini-auction.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Ahead of the mega-event of the biggest cricket league in the world, we will take a look at the players Delhi Capitals might target in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions.

The Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals saw a tremendous success last year by reaching their maiden IPL final where they fell short to lift the trophy against Mumbai Indias. Delhi since the inception of IPL in 2008 was an underperforming side but with the inclusion of the young talents, Delhi might see a bright future.

After the success of reaching finals, the Delhi management would love to lift the trophy and end the 12 long years draught. Under Shreyas Iyer, Delhi has flourished and reached IPL  playoffs in 2019 while in 2020 IPL Delhi played their maiden IPL final.

But before that, Delhi will have to fill up the voids created by the release of some players. Delhi traded Harshal Patel and Daniel Sams to Royal Challenger Bangalore and will need some key replacement for them before heading out to IPL 2021.

In this article, we will discuss the top 3 players Delhi Capitals might target in IPL 2021 mini-auctions.

3 players Delhi Capitals might target in IPL 2021 mini-auctions:

Chris Lynn:

Opening for Delhi Capitals has been a problem for years. Prithwi Shaw showed a tremendous collapse in the opening last time which resulted in bringing Marcus Stioins to the opening slot. Shikhar Dhawan was a constant performer for them while he will need a good partner for IPL 2021.

DC could go for Chris Lynn, which is right now with Mumbai Indians. To get Chris Lynn, Delhi has to de a trade which can be in all cash or player to player. Mumbai Indians will ask for the likes of Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada or Chris Woakes before trading Chris Lynn to Delhi Capitals.

Lungi Ngidi:

Although their pace battery seems to be complete however they need a competent back-up option for the pacers. With the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, it is unlikely that the pacer will be able to feature in the playing 11.

But if any one of the two gets injured then it can create a problem for the Delhi based franchise. Ngidi is retained by Chennai Super Kings, however, the pacer will surely be on the sidelines for the most of IPL games.

David Miller:

At times it is seen that Shimron Hetmyre failed to perform the services of the finisher. Delhi could opt for David Miller who is equally explosive and can perform power hitting at death. With the likes of Hetmyre and Miller along with Stioins, Delhi will become one of the favourites to breach the playoffs once again.

Miller has been retained by Rajasthan Royals and to acquire him, DC either will have to deal in cash or do player to player deal.
