India’s Squad for three-match ODI series against South Africa Announced: Southpaw Shikhar Dhawan returns to the Indian colours as he is set to lead a new-look Indian side in the three-match ODI squad against South Africa. While the senior pros have been rested for the 50-over games, some young faces have been given the nod to showcase their talent.

Ravi Bishnoi, Rajat Patidar and Mukesh Chaudhary have received their maiden call-up for the three-match ODI series. 

Opener Shubman Gill will likely resume his partnership with skipper Shikhar Dhawan while Ishan Kishan is another designated opener in the side.

A few players named in India’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad as standby players have also been named in the ODI squad. Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar are the players from the standby list.

Other batters included in the Indian ODI squad are Rahul Tripathi, Rajat Patidar, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson.

Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar will assume the fast bowling charge along with Mukesh Chaudhary, who has received a maiden call-up. Meanwhile, the tweaking duties will be looked after by Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav and Shahbaz Ahmad.

India vs South Africa ODI Schedule:

The three-match ODI series against South Africa starts on October 6 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. The two sides will then head to Ranchi and Delhi on October 9 and 11 respectively for the final two ODIs.
