India’s Playing11 for ODIs and T20Is against Sri Lanka named by Harsha Bhogle.
India’s renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle names his best possible picks in the playing11 against Sri Lanka in July. India will field two teams simultaneously where the senior players will be in England while the second string squad will tour Sri Lanka for the 3 ODIs and as many T20I games.
The second string Indian squad will miss the hefty names with the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and others.
Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle said that despite playing without the big names, India can still field a formidable squad that can thrash Sri Lanka in their own soil.
In the video of Cricbuzz, Harsha Bhogle put up his two lineups for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Bhogle picked Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan as the opener of both sides. The duo of Delhi Capitals (DC) did wonders in the IPL 2021 and are in good form.
Talking about number three, four and five, Harsha picked Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey as his first choice picks.
Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Suryakumar Yadav is certainly going to get his ticket for the Sri Lanka tour. His exploits in the IPL over the last couple of years has got him his maiden T20I call up and is going strong.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson also finds his place in Bhogle’s playing 11. Samson did play some of the impressive knocks in the Vivo IPL 2021 and took his team over the line. He will keep the wickets for the Indian team.
Manish Pandey despite scoring good runs did not enjoy his outing in the now-suspended IPL season fourteen. Pandey was dropped from the side as his strike rate did not match the team’s requirement.
Bhogle named the all-rounder brother duo Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya next. Notably, Hardik did not pick the ball in the IPL 2021 however his elder brother Krunal was impressive with both willow and ball in hand.

Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have found their place together in Harsha’s playing11. Both the spinners had a sensational run together when they played for India. However, both of them didn’t have a memorable IPL season.
Picking the pacers for the team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar are picked. Bhuvi had an impressive comeback series against England while Deepak Chahar picked up two four wickets in IPL 2021.
There is not much difference in the playing11 of ODI and T20Is. The commentator replaced Manish Pandey with Rahul Tewatia while Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar are introduced as the spinners.
