ICC WTC Final: Indian squad in Southampton not allowed to meet each other for next three days.

ICC WTC Final: A strong 20-men Indian squad along with Indian women cricketers had landed in Southampton, UK for the marquee final of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand. Both men and women cricketers had undergone two weeks of mandatory quarantine before boarding the flight to the UK.

Another round of fresh soft quarantine will be there for players. Indian spinner Axar Patel has revealed that they will have to enter a three days quarantine upon reaching Southampton.

During these three days, no players are allowed to meet each other and after the completion of the soft quarantine in Southampton, the players will get to train for the final.

India and New Zealand will fight tooth and nails for one last time in the ICC World Test Championship, starting June 18 at Rose Bowl.

“I had a good sleep…the plan is to quarantine. We have been told that we can’t meet each other for three days so we will be quarantining for that much time,” said Axar in a video posted by BCCI capturing the team’s journey to England via a charter flight.

The Kiwis are currently involved in a two-match test series against England. The first one of which is being played at the home of cricket Lord’s while for the second both teams will head to Edgbaston, Birmingham.

After the conclusion of the ICC WTC Final, team India will participate in another Test assignment with England. Both teams will have a five-match test series, starting August 5.
