Rohit Sharma-led Indian Cricket Team and Aiden Markram’s South Africa are set to lock horns against each other in the highly anticipated FINAL of ICC’s T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval Stadium of Barbados on Saturday, 29th of June.

The Men in Blue, aiming to lift their second T20 World Cup trophy, have been on a winning streak since the start of the competition and cruised into the final after beating by a dominating margin of 68 runs in the semi-final, thus making their way into their third T20 World Cup final since 2014.

The Indians successfully defended a target of 172 runs by inflicting an all out on England of 103 runs.

The South Africans on the other hand have been on an unbeaten run since the beginning of the tournament as well and they qualified for their first ever T20 World Cup final as they thrashed Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan by a margin of nine-wickets in semi-final one and they will now be looking to get the better of India in the upcoming match and lift their first ever T20 World Cup trophy.

Aiden Markram and his men chased down the really small total of 57 runs in just nine overs and carried their winning streak to eight wins on the trot.

South Africa’s unbeaten run will be tested against the highly confident Indian team when they meet each other in the final on Saturday of this week. The two sides last played against each other in the shortest format of the game in December of last year.

In T20 World Cups, the Men in Blue have the head to head advantage over the Proteas as they have won on four occasions out of six matches against the South Africans. The last time these two met was in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia where the Indian Cricket Team finished out on top.
