India vs England T20Is: BCCI asks players selected for T20Is to report in Ahmedabad on 1st March.

India vs England T20Is: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday asked the players who are selected for the upcoming T20I series against England to report in Ahmedabad on 1st March. BCCI recently announced the Indian squad for the India-England T20I series and three new boys were given the maiden call up.

Shikhar Dhawan who is currently competing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi will also have to leave the tournament mid-way and report to BCCI in Ahmedabad. Apart from Dhawan, Surya Kumar Yadav, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia are also playing the 50-over domestic tournament and are asked to report on March 1.

Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia got their maiden India call up in the upcoming series. All three players impressed everyone with their heated performance in the IPL 2020.

The T20 series will begin on March 12 and the final T20 game will be played on March 20. All the games will be held in Ahmedabad only due to complications of Covid-19.  Both the teams will play five T20 games in the given period. 

“Shikhar is supposed to report in Ahmedabad along with others on March 1. As far as we know, all the white ball specialists have been asked to play 2 to 3 games to be in touch as they will again enter a new bubble with all the COVID-19 protocols in place,” a senior DDCA official told PTI on condition of anonymity.

Squad: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma (vc), Shikhar Dhawan, Washington Sundar, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper),  KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan (wk), Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Rahul Tewatia, Shreyas Iyer, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Axar Patel, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur.
