India vs England T20Is: Jofra Archer might miss the first T20I against India in Ahmedabad

India vs England: Jofra Archer unavailable for the final test against India.

India vs England: Pacer Jofra Archer is not considered for the selection for the final test match against India due to an elbow niggle. ECB on Thursday said that Archer will be rested for the final game while Ben Stokes is having an upset stomach.

Archer had also missed a test game in Chennai due to an Elbow injury.

“Jofra Archer is not playing in this Test match due to his ongoing right elbow issue. The ECB medical team will provide an update in due course,” read an update from the England cricket board.

The pacer will be under ECB’s medical team’s scanner for the coming days. The medical team will monitor the recovery of the seamer and if he gets fit he will be made available for the limited-overs leg against India.

ECB further stated that some other players of the team are having upset stomach lately. Ben Stokes is one of them and it is nearly impossible for us to keep him out of the final test match.

“Ben Stokes has had an upset stomach, the same issue that has affected other members of the touring party. It is not expected to keep him off the field,” it said.

After winning the toss, England could not capitalize on their batting and the team was bundled within a day. Indian bowlers reduced the whole English tea, for mere 205 runs.

Ben Stokes was the leading run-getter for the visitors with 55 runs while Dan Lawerence fell 4 short of his well-crafted half-century.

In response to the total, India lost Shubman Gill early on for a duck. James Anderson with the absolute beauty provided the first breakthrough.

India are now 24 for 1 as day 1 ended with Rohit Sharma (08*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (15*) on the crease.
