India vs England: Brad Hogg wants Ashwin back in India’s ODI squad against England.

India vs England: Former Australian all-rounder Brad Hogg urges the BCCI and management to bring back the star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the limited-overs leg against England. Not only bowling he can also provide depth in the batting too.

Brad Hogg on Twitter, while replying to his fan who asked about the daunting off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Hogg replied, “He will be a great addition to India’s 50 overs format. At present he is in his prime form and BCCI would not want to waste his hard work.”

“I think it is a great option, gives the batting line up extra depth allowing the top order to be more aggressive at the top,” Hogg said in reply to a tweet by a fan asking if Ashwin can make a comeback to ODI cricket.

“And he is a wicket-taking option with the ball, as well as economical. Get him back in. #INDvENG #Cricket,” Hogg tweeted.

The lethal off-spinner featured in 111 One Day Games and 46 T20I games besides test matches. Ashwin has picked 150 and 52 scalps in ODI and T20Is respectively.

Despite being in prime form, Ashwin is out of the blues for quite a few years now. He last featured in the One Day game back in June 2017 and the same is the case with T20Is.

Ravichandran Ashwin recently broke into the 400 Test Wickets club and is the second-fastest to reach the milestone after Muttiah Muralitharan. In the third test against England, Ashwin picked seven wickets to reach 400 total test wickets.

He also played a vital role in retaining the historic Border Gavaskar Trophy in January.

The fourth and final test match between India and Australia will begin on 04th March and it will decider for the ICC World Test Championship final berth.

If India manages to win the game or at least draw it out then India will head to the Final of the ICC World Test Championship. While if England won the game, then Australia will go opposite New Zealand in the Final.
