India vs Australia: Watch – Steve Smith grabs one-handed screamer to send Hardik Pandya packing in the second ODI in Visakhapatnam

India vs Australia: The ODI series between India and Australia is underway. The series currently stands at 1-0 with the hosts in lead. The first game between the teams took place in Mumbai and it was a low-scoring thriller that saw the Men in Blue pounding the visitors by the margin of 5 wickets. The match tested a few Indian batters as well but they held their nerves and looked composed to win the game.

The staggering bowling performance by Mohammad Shami saw India bundling out the opposition for just 188 runs. It seemed that it’ll be piece of cake for the hosts to chase the target. But Mitchell Starc was at his absolute best and reduced India to 39/4. After that, it was all about KL Rahul, who smashed a staggering half-century, and along with Ravindra Jadeja bailed his side out of trouble and guided them home.

The second India vs Australia ODI is currently taking place in Visakhapatnam. Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and put the hosts into the bat. His decision to bat first paid off as his bowlers have produced a magnificent effort and have made a mockery of the Indian batting lineup.

While the staggering fast bowling was on offer, there was a room for spectacular fielding show as well and it came from none other than Australia skipper Steve Smith. The right-hander plucked one of the best catches in the history of cricket and made almost everyone in the ground stand up and applaud him.

It was during the 10th over of the innings, when Sean Abbott bowled a seamed-up delivery that was short of a good length. The ball induced a thick outside edge off Hardik Pandya’s bat and it seemed that it would evade the first slip fielder but Smith took a screamer. He flew parallel to the ground and made a full-length dive to his right and completed a sensational catch.

India vs Australia: Australian pacer Mitchell Starc yet again stood tall for his side and put them in a staggering position in the second ODI. The left-arm pacer made a mockery of India’s batting lineup and bagged his 9th five-wicket haul in this format.

He drew the first blood for his side when he removed Shubman Gill for a duck and followed it with the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj to return with the figures of 5/53. Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis provided great support to the left-arm pacer to put India under immense pressure and bundle them out for just 117 runs.

For India, Virat Kohli looked settled and scored 31 runs but that wasn’t enough as he went back to the hut after a start. Axar Patel struck some lusty blows in the end and scored unbeaten 29 runs but didn’t get the desired support as India was folded for a low total.
