ICC World Cup Super League: India moves to number 7 after the series decider triumph against England in Pune.

ICC World Cup Super League: Team India post the win in the 3rd ODI in Pune moves one place up in the recently updated ICC World Cup Super League points table. Earlier, India was in 8th position behind Pakistan.

Virat Kohli and Co. thrashed the visitors in the series decider to clinch the ODI series and make a complete clean sweep in the home season. India took the ODI series 2-1 after a nail-biting finish to the decider in Pune last night.

Despite the loss, England remains at the top of the ICC World Cup Super League points table with 40 points and a net run rate of +0.468. Australia is at number two with equal points however differing in the net run rate. The Aussies have a slightly lower net run rate than Englishmen.

India with the win jumped over Pakistan in the points table with 29 points and a net run rate of -0.252. India were fined a penalty over due to which one point was deducted.

For every win in the World Cup Super League, teams are awarded 10 points while no result / tied/abandoned match both teams are rewarded with 5 points each and no points for the loss.

A total of 24 games will be played in the Super League by each team and the top seven teams in the World Cup Super League points table will directly qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023. The elite ICC competition will be held in India.

The bottom five teams will play another qualifying round and the top teams from that qualifying rounds will qualify for the World Cup 2023.
