World Ranking T20I Bowler
Jasprit Bumrah

In what will be a massive boost for the Indian cricket team, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to make a comeback into the team through the Ireland series. The BCCI official confirmed the development to News 18 and said that the pacer is in good shape and is all set for his return.

This in turn will be a great fan for Indian fans considering the two major tournaments in Asia Cup and World Cup are around the corner. India is slated to tour Ireland for three-match T20I series in August and it’ll be a great opportunity for Jasprit Bumrah to regain his rhythm for the big events.

Speaking to News 18, a senior BCCI official said: “Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good for the Ireland series in August this year. It will be a big boost to the Indian cricket team and will also allow Bumrah time in the middle after the long injury lay-off. If everything stays on course, a Bumrah at peak fitness is likely to take field,”

Jasprit Bumrah has been out of cricketing action since September 2022, having last played for India in the T20I series against Australia. The pacer missed quite a few important games for India and it’s fair to say that his absence was quite evident as they lost big games and a lacked quality pacer.

Jasprit Bumrah was about to make a comeback into the Indian team through the Sri Lanka series in January. He was named in the team but then was ruled out as he complained about stiffness in his back. He underwent surgery in New Zealand and then missed the IPL 2023 along with the ongoing WTC Final.
