IND vs WI 3rd ODI: 3 Changes India might make for the 3rd ODI

IND vs WI 3rd ODI: Winning streak of India over West Indies ends as Shai Hope and boys won the first match in the last 10 ODI. The things India has tried in this ODI series haven’t appeared convincing. They need to make some changes in their playing 11 in the next ODI to win the series. In this post, we present you 3 Changes India might make for the IND vs WI 3rd ODI.

The first ODI was a cakewalk for India. That day, they were simply too good on the pitch, especially in the bowling department. They chased down 114 in the first ODI when their bowling appeared to be top-notch, but in the subsequent two ODIs, their batting has struggled and the experiments haven’t really made sense.

India played with a strong 11 in the first ODI, where Rohit delivered the game-winning runs with Virat staying out of the batting order. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma didn’t take part in the second ODI, and the team was led by Hardik Pandya. But the outcome was not ideal as the visitors succumbed against West Indies. India’s batting order drastically failed as they were bundled out for only 181 runs.

Despite a decent opening partnership of 90 runs, it was a middle-order capitulation which caused their dismal downfall and thus levelled the series for West Indies.

In response, the West Indian openers got them off to a strong start, and Mayers stood up with his aggressive powerplay play against the pacers. Mayers scored 36 runs in a carefree cameo, hitting four boundaries, two sixes, and 50 runs with King. After that, Shardul Thakur was brought into the attack, and he dismissed both of the openers in the same over.

Following that, West Indies lost a few wickets quickly, but Hope and Carty played cautiously and took charge against the spinners. As they pursued their target without any further glitches and quite thoroughly in the end.

The two sides will wrestle once again on Tuesday (August 1) at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago in the decider ‘IND vs WI 3rd ODI’. India’s batting was affected by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s absence. It was more of a child without a guardian who struggled on the first day of school.

It is going to be interesting to watch whether the team’s management makes any changes in the IND vs WI 3rd ODI when they clash for the series or sticks with the current lineup. Down below is the 3 Changes that India might make for the IND vs WI 3rd ODI.

  • 2- Ruturaj in place of Gill?

Ruturaj is an excellent player who unfortunately is benched as Gill and Ishan has done well is past. Gill in this series looked low in contrast to his past few performances so chances are very high that Ruturaj can be India’s new opener or number 3.

  • 3- Axar and Umran to be rested?

Axar Patel didn’t got much chance in the 2nd ODI to prove his mentle but he might also be benched as team need more batting options. Unadkat can replace Umran Malik as the young gun hasn’t found any success so far and also have been expensive.
