IND vs WI 1st Test: Strongest Playing11 for India and West Indies: It’s been a month since the Indian team has been away from cricket action following their defeat in the ICC World Test Championship Final, however, now it’s time to form a huddle and gear up for the West Indies challenge. The India tour of West Indies 2023 is all set to begin on July 12 at Dominica.

The IND vs WI 1st test is scheduled to be held at Windsor Park in Dominica from July 12 to 16. The action will begin at 7:30 PM IST and the final session of the day will commence at 12:30 AM IST.

Talking of how India has done against West Indies in the past, history appears to be dominating and glorious. Since October 2002, the Indians have been undefeated against West Indies in the test series. Back in 2019, during India’s previous tour, the hosts suffered a defeat by 0-2 in the two-game test series.

The IND vs WI test series will also kickstart a new World Test Championship cycle for both teams, which will run until 2025. Although India has managed to reach finals in the last two WTC cycles, it is always a disappointment that came India’s way in the summit clash. Recently, Australia trounced India to deny them the ICC title at the Oval in London.

Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal are set to make their India debut in the IND vs WI 1st test at Windsor Park. While Jaiswal will assume the opening role along with skipper Rohit Sharma, Ishan will wear gloves for the team. Shubman Gill is likely to be pushed to third place after the drop of Cheteshwar Pujara.

Kraigg Brathwaite will spearhead the West Indies side against India in the two-match test series. Rahkeem Cornwall has made his comeback to the side after a long hiatus. Meanwhile, the team will also have the services of experienced Jason Holder and Kemar Roach.
