IND vs SL: Sri Lanka Tour Of India 2023 | India vs Sri Lanka
India vs Sri Lanka

IND vs SL: A mishmash of emotions accompanied India’s tour of Bangladesh, including delight at clinching the Test series and sorrow over losing the ODI series. After the India vs. Bangladesh series is completed, India is to host another neighboring country, Sri Lanka, for a T20I series and then an ODI series. Each series will feature three (3) matches, e.i., three T20Is, and three ODIs.

On December 27, late at night, the BCCI released two separate lineups for India for the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian T20 side for three T20I matches commencing January 3rd, 2023, while Rohit Sharma will head the Indian ODI team for three T20I matches starting January 10th, 2023.

The new year for India begins with some seismic shifts. Rishabh Pant has been axed following a streak of subpar performances in T20s. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are back in the T20 division. As Hardik Pandya leads India’s T20 Reboot, KL Rahul is a notable omission from the T20 squad. KL Rahul has been replaced by Pandya in the ODI vice-captain position. In a sense, it serves as a warning for Rahul. Another poor performance may lead to his exclusion from ODIs as well.
