IND vs SA 1st Test: South Africa All Out for 159 as Bumrah Blows Away Proteas With a Fifer

The first Test between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens is underway, and India started it with a surprise to South Africa. Bumrah, Siraj, and the spin duo of Axar and Kuldeep clinched the Proteas batters in clinical to stop them at just 159 runs in the first innings.
South Africa won the toss and chose to bat on a surface that already showed some uneven bounce. At 57 for no loss, the visitors looked steady and confident. But what followed was a stunning collapse that completely changed the day.
India fought back with fire and discipline, led once again by Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian pacer produced a magical spell and finished with five wickets for just 27 runs. Every time India needed a breakthrough, Bumrah stepped up and delivered. His pace, movement, angle and accuracy were too much for the South African batters.
South Africa began well with Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton scoring freely. Rickelton looked aggressive and Markram played some clean strokes. But once Bumrah removed Rickelton on 23, the momentum shifted sharply. Markram followed soon after, and the early confidence melted away.
The middle order had no answers either. Temba Bavuma fell for 3 and became Kuldeep Yadav's first victim, and Wiaan Mulder tried to survive but eventually fell. Tony de Zorzi fought for a while but perished at 24. The rest of the line-up crumbled against a mix of sharp pace, tight spin, and rising pressure.
The best phase for India was the second session. In that session, they bowled 25 overs and gave away only 49 runs while picking up 5 wickets. It was a complete choke from the Indian bowlers. South Africa never recovered after that collapse.
Tristan Stubbs was not out on 15, but he kept running out of partners. Siraj supported Bumrah well with two wickets while Kuldeep struck twice. Axar Patel added one more to complete the job. From 57 for no loss, South Africa fell to 159 all out in just 55 overs.
After losing the toss, they could not have asked for a better outcome. The bowlers were disciplined, the fielding was sharp, and Bumrah once again proved why he is one of the best in the world.
