Rules and Regulation of Reserve Day
The Asian Cricket Council had already decided to keep a reserve day for this match due to the threat of rain, so that the match could not be cancelled. If this match cannot be completed today, it will be restarted on September 11 at the same point where it was stopped the previous day.
Continuous rain has been falling in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for several days. In such a case, there was a risk of rain in this match as well, so ACC decided to keep a reserve day for this match in addition to the final. Previously, the India-Pakistan group stage match at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy was cancelled due to rain.

After losing the toss, the opening pair of Shubman Gill and captain Rohit Sharma, who batted first, gave the Indian team an aggressive start. Both of Pakistan's most important fast bowlers, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali, scored 31 runs in the first three overs. Apart from that, Team India scored 61 runs without losing a wicket in the first ten overs. Gill and Rohit shared a 121-run partnership for the first wicket.
Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 56 runs, while Gill was dismissed after scoring 58 runs. When the game was called due to a wet outfield, Virat Kohli was on 8 runs and KL Rahul was on 17.
