Over 1,30,000 people are going to witness the IND vs NZ Final match in Ahmedabad at Narendra Modi Stadium, which is the world's largest cricket stadium.

After defeating England in a thriller semi-final, India qualified for the Final and they will be looking to carry forward the same momentum. Will PM Narendra Modi attend the T20 World Cup 2026 Final?

Last time, India played at this venue during the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 Final. On that occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present to watch the match between India and Australia, but unfortunately, despite playing dominating cricket throughout the tournament, India lost the final in Ahmedabad.

However, for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final, there has been no official confirmation that PM Narendra Modi will attend the India vs New Zealand Final in Ahmedabad. As per the reports, PM Modi is unlikely to attend this match due to busy schedule on Sunday.

PM Narendra Modi is reportedly set to inaugurate several development projects worth around Rs. 33,500 crore. These projects are related to the expansion of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation network and the launch of new metro corridors. Therefore, due to an action-packed schedule, it may be difficult for PM Modi to travel to Ahmedabad for the IND vs NZ Final.

A Chance for Historic Achievement for India and New Zealand

India are defending champions as they won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating South Africa by 7 runs. Now, India will be aiming to defend their title in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, and if they manage to win the final, they will become one of the rare teams to win two consecutive T20 World Cup titles and the first team to win three titles.

New Zealand haven’t won any ICC title despite playing exceptional cricket in the past few years. But now they have an excellent chance to win their first ICC trophy by defeating India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final in Ahmedabad. However, it’s not going to be an easy task, but they have plenty of quality players who can help the team to lift its first trophy.
