India had a stellar outing with the bat in the second T20I of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand. Their rollicking batting effort saw them win the second match with seven wickets in hand at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Asked to bat, New Zealand posted a massive total of 208 for six, India in response, made fun of the chase, winning with around five overs to spare.

Devon Conway (19) took New Zealand off to a flying start with the bat, hitting Arshdeep Singh for 18 runs in first over. Tim Seifert (24) also played his part as the Black Caps had an opening stand of 43 runs in no time. India then applied brakes on the scoring rate, removing both openers.

However, Rachin Ravindra (44) kept hitting boundaries at one end, stitching 55 runs for the third wicket with Glenn Phillips (19). After that, New Zealand lost their way and found themselves at 129 for five. With the team under pressure, captain Mitchell Santner (47*) stepped up and played a blistering innings to take his team to 208 for six.

In the chase, India were jolted early with both Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma getting out early. With the score reading six for two, Ishan Kishan (76:) changed the course of the game with his brutal innings. He took attack to the New Zealand bowlers, hitting them all over the park.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav (82*) played a second fiddle to him, scoring just 39 runs in their 122-run partnership. Ishan hit a 21-ball half-century to put the opposition under pressure.

Once he was back, Yadav took charge and brought his half-century after more than 400 days. Shivam Dube (36*) played his part s well as India chased the target with seven wickets in hand.
