Indian batter Shreyas Iyer hasn’t made much impact with the bat in the IND vs ENG game. But is making sure that he gives his everything on the field. His effort proved out to be game-changing for Team India and helped them to win.

Shreyas Iyer sent England skipper Ben Stokes packing with his sensational effort in the field in IND vs ENG. The all-rounder was looking set to finish the game and was slowly getting into the groove. However, the brilliance of the Indian player cut short his stay at the crease and sent him packing.

During the 4th ball of the 53rd over, the ball went to the leg side off Ben Foakes’ inside edge and the batters took off for a single. Ben Stokes jogged away and didn’t realise that Shreyas Iyer was coming in quickly to gather the ball.

Iyer gathered the ball and quickly hit the only stump visible to him. Ben Stokes tried to hurry in the end, but he fell short of his crease. What caught the attention of many was India’s batter did exactly the same celebration that Stokes did after taking the catch of Iyer.

IND vs ENG: Shreyas Iyer fails to make mark with the bat

Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been able to make a mark in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series. He has been getting the starts but is failing to convert the starts. This has raised a lot of questions over his place in the team and there have been many calls to drop him from the team as well.

Shreyas Iyer perished for 29 runs off 52 balls in the second innings of the second IND vs ENG game and also hit two boundaries in his innings. He managed 27 runs in the first innings. It won’t be a surprise if he gets dropped from the team now.
