IND vs ENG: No Virat, No Shami; Check team India Expected Squad for the remaining Test against England

India batter Virat Kohli is all set to miss the last three IND vs ENG games. The right-hander, who missed the first two games, hasn’t made himself available yet and there’s is no certainty about when he will be back for the team. 

Virat Kohli opted out of the first two IND vs ENG games as he pulled out of the game due to personal reasons. It was expected that the batter would be back for the team for the last three games but that hasn’t been the case as he is yet to make himself available. 

The Indian selectors are all set to name the squad on Friday (8th February). The reports in Indian Express suggested that although Virat Kohli will miss the last three IND vs ENG games but window will be open for him. Whenever he makes himself available, he will be drafted into the team. 

A senior BCCI official while talking about Virat Kohli’s availability for the IND vs ENG game said: “Virat will decide when he wants to make a comeback to the Indian side. He hasn’t informed us till now but whenever he decides to play, he will be included in the team”

Absence will Virat Kohli will be a huge blow for the India team going into the IND vs ENG series. The void left by him was quite evident in the first two games as batters failed to capitalise the start they got. They didn’t get going and struggled against the spinners. 

With Virat Kohli expected to miss the games, it is likely that Sarfaraz khan and Rajat Patidar will retain their place in the team. Management would be hoping that the batter returns into the team for at least last two games.

The reports also claimed that KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja will be returning for the third IND vs ENG Test. The duo has shown great signs of improvement and will be making a comeback for the team in the Rajkot Test, set to be played on 15th February. 

The reports also claimed that Jasprit Bumrah will be playing the third match and team management isn’t keen to give him rest. They have left it to pacer to decide whether he wants to play the third Test.
