India captain Rohit Sharma was at his exceptional best with the bat during the ongoing IND vs ENG Test in Rajkot. The skipper played a stupendous innings and put his team in a strong position in the match. 

India opted to bat first and they were left tottering at 33/3. It was then that skipper Rohit Sharma oozed his class and stood tall for his team. The opening batter bailed the team out of trouble and made sure he along with Ravindra Jadeja changed the momentum of the game. 

Before the third IND vs ENG game, Rohit Sharma was under a lot of pressure due to the lack of runs under his belt. However, he made sure that he silenced all his critics and apart from his personal milestones, he put the team in a good position. 

Rohit Sharma looked very tentative initially. However, once he negotiated the tricky phase, he made sure he made England’s bowlers look clueless. The India captain played a stellar of an innings and notched up his 11th century in the longest format of the game.

Rohit Sharma ended with an innings of 131 runs off 196 balls. The captain slammed 14 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. His knock came at a time when India was under tremendous pressure. His innings ensured that the team went past 200 runs on the board with ease.

With his innings of 131 runs in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test, Rohit Sharma became 5 major records. He became the 4th highest run-getter in the history of Indian cricket. The captain also surpassed MS Dhoni to become a player with the second most sixes in Tests. 

Rohit Sharma also now has the most hundreds for India in the history of the World Test Championship. The batter also became the oldest Indian skipper to score a hundred in the Tests. He also has the most sixes by an Indian captain.
