The ICC World Cup 2023 is done and dusted and although the result didn’t go India’s way, it’s surely not the end of the journey for them. The preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 are on now and the Indian team will have a jam-packed schedule till the tournament, slated to take place in June 2024.
Indian team is currently locking horns with Australia in the five-match T20I series. The first game took place on 23rd November and the second match is slated for to take place on 26th November. The series will be played in five different venues and will conclude on 3rd December.
After the IND vs AUS series concludes, Indian Cricket Team will tour South Africa. They will be playing three T20Is, Three ODIs and two Tests on their tour. The series between them will begin with T20Is to be played from 10th December to 14th December. Following that three ODIs will be played from 17th to 21st December. The tour ends with a Test series to be played from 26th December to 7th January.
It’ll be time for another T20I series after the South Africa tour. India will be hosting Afghanistan for the three-match T20I series from 11th January to 17th January. The series was earlier scheduled to take place ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 but was pushed back later.
Following that, it’ll be time for the Test series. England will tour India for the five-match Test series. It’ll be a crucial series in the context of the ICC World Test Championship. The series will be played from 25th January to 11th March.
The Test series against England will potentially be the last time Indian team will be seen in action ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Following that two-month-long IPL will be taking place. The tournament will be ideal preparation for the Indian team and all the other nations to get in the grove for the World Cup.
