IND vs AUS: David Warner, Pat Cummins doubtful for India vs Australia ODI series: In what could be a huge setback to the Australians ahead of the three-match ODI series against India, their two premier players – Pat Cummins and David Warner – are likely to be ruled out. The two aforementioned players have already been ruled out of the ongoing India vs Australia test series.

David Warner took a blow in his elbow during the ongoing IND vs AUS four-game test series and subsequently returned home with a fractured elbow. He is currently undergoing his rehabilitation program and is likely to miss the ODI proceedings which follow the test series. With ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 happening later this year, Cricket Australia (CA) may not want to risk their premier batters.

On the other side, skipper Pat Cummins returned back home midway through India vs Australia test series to see his mother who is in palliative care. Cummins has already pulled back from playing in the final test match of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 in Ahmedabad and could also miss the ODI leg of the tour.

If Pat Cummins misses the 50-over series against India as well, Steven Smith will spearhead the side in the white-ball games as well.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell suffered a freak injury after the T20 World Cup 2022 and since then he has been undergoing his rehab program. Although he has been named in Australia’s squad travelling to India for the three-match ODI series, his participation remains uncertain as reports say he isn’t yet completely recovered from his injury in his leg.

As per the report of Zero Cricket, Glenn Maxwell is not 100 per cent sure of his fitness and the cricket board may choose to rest him.

Mitchell Marsh is also on the same lines. The all-rounder suffered an ankle injury and has recently recovered from it. Although he is fit to play, CA might not keep him running in all the matches against India.

In another injury report from the Australian camp, pacer Jhye Richardson has aggravated his hamstring injury and is ruled out of the remaining India tour. He will be replaced by Nathan Ellis for the ODIs.

Australia’s ODI Squad: Pat Cummins (c), Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Ellis, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa
