IND vs AFG: In a fanboy moment, a young Virat Kohli fan breached the security parameters at the Holkar Stadium in Indore and went straight into the ground to meet his idol. He hugged Virat Kohli and touched his feet before he was handled by the cops. The intruder was later detained by the Madhya Pradesh Police and interrogated.

The intruder interrupted the game during Afghanistan’s innings when Virat Kohli was patrolling the boundaries. The fan was taken into custody and the further course of action will be decided after the interrogation.

It was confirmed that the intruder had a match ticket and entered the venue from Narendra Hirwani Gate. The fan climbed the spectator’s gallery to enter the ground and get close to Virat Kohli, said news agency PTI.

Meanwhile, an X user, formerly Twitter, named Aarav, who has a picture of Virat Kohli as his profile photo, expressed that it was his wish to meet Virat Kohli which was fulfilled today. He uploaded the video on his X handle.

Virat Kohli made a comeback in T20Is during India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20I in Indore. The veteran batter was unavailable for the first match in Mohali due to personal reasons. However, returned to the team in the second fixture of the three-match series.

It was Virat’s first T20I assignment after the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against England. The Men in Blue lost the semi-final and got knocked out of the showpiece tournament in Australia.

After India’s exit from the last T20 World Cup, it was believed that the senior players would not get any further opportunities in the T20Is and the BCCI would prepare a fresh squad for the next World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and the USA, starting June 1.

IND vs AFG: Virat Kohli scored 29 Runs off 16 Balls

In his comeback game, Virat looked sound with his approach. The maestro batter seemed to have begun where he left off in 2022 as he scored a quickfire 29 runs off 16 deliveries with the help of five boundaries.

Virat came to bat in the first over after Indian captain Rohit Sharma registered a golden duck. He then partnered with young Yashasvi Jaiswal and took India’s total to 62 runs before another wicket could fall.

He perished attempting another big hit after having scored five boundaries, however, was caught at mid-off in the 6th over off Naveen ul Haq’s over.

Team India chased down the 172-run target posed by Afghanistan in just 15.4 overs owing to the magnificent innings played by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube. While Jaiswal scored 68 runs off 38 deliveries, Dube remained unbeaten at 63 runs off 32 deliveries.

With the win, Team India bagged the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan by winning the first two games on the trot. The third T20I will be held in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
