ICC WTC Points Table 2023-25: Special moments and a special win wrapped up the England Tour of India 2024 which saw plenty of records set and broken. India won the test series with ease and following their win in Dharamshala, they are leading the WTC Points table with pleasing numbers. Here we are with the ICC WTC Points Table Updated after the IND vs ENG 5th Test.

The Dharamshala Test match was quite special in itself as it was the 100th test of the spin maestro Ravichandran Ashwin and star English batter Jonny Bairstow. Ashwin, as expected, made his 100th outing a special one as he scalped 9 wickets and led his team to a third-day test victory.

Winning the toss, England opted to bat first but Bumrah and Siraj made it a tough time for Crawley and Duckett in the start. Still, they gave a good start to the English innings with a 60+ runs partnership for the first wicket. The top order was still better but the middle order disappointed them the most and after being at 175 for 3 down, they collapsed to 183 for 8 down. Kuldeep Yadav took a fifer in the 15 overs he bowled and Ashwin got 4.

Coming to bat, Yashasvi Jaiswal started his innings with proper cautions and his first boundary (a SIX) came off the 28th ball which was followed by two more in the same over. He got out to Shohib Bashir after scoring 57 off 58. Rohit Sharma played the main aggressor role right from the start and he with Gill took India ahead of England’s score. Sharma and Gill, both scored fine centuries followed by two excellent half-centuries by debutant Devdutt Padikal and Sharfaraz Khan.

Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav added 50 runs for the 10th wicket and played over 133 balls which showed that the pitch was good for batting if stuck to basics. James Anderson dismissed Kuldeep Yadav and that was his 700th wicket. This is a huge milestone as he is the only fast bowler to take 700 or more wickets. India were all out for 477 in their first innings and they were leading by 259 runs.

Bumrah and Ashwin shared the new ball and Ashwin started with the wicket of Ducket. He continued the proceedings and dismissed Crawley and Pope in his extended spell of 8 overs. Jonny Bairstow took the aggressive path and found Kuldeep to throw his wicket. Coming back in his second spell, Ashwin bowled out English skipper Stokes and Foakes and took a fifer in his 100th match. Bumrah got two wickets, Jadeja got one and England were all out for 195 runs.
