ICC World Cup 2023: Sourav Ganguly drops Yuzvendra Chahal from his World Cup squad after saying he should be definitely picked?

ICC World Cup 2023 is just a few weeks away from now. The cricket extravaganza will take place in India from 5th October and the final is all set to take place on 19th November. The tournament will begin with a  blockbuster clash between England and New Zealand. Coming to the Indian team, they will open their campaign against Australia on 8th October in Chennai.

With the ICC World Cup 2023 around the corner, there have been a lot of speculations about who will win, who will score the most runs, who will take the most wickets and many more. Many experts and fans have started making their predictions and the latest to join the bandwagon is former Indian cricketer former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. 

Sourav Ganguly has picked his Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. But what was surprising was that he dropped Yuzvendra Chahal from the team after previously saying that the leg-spinner should be picked definitely in the team because wrist spinners bring variety. 

Sourav Ganguly picked Rohit Sharma along with Shubman Gill as openers in the team. The duo is expected to be first-choice openers. He also backed Ishan Kishan to be the backup opener as well as backup wicket-keeper in this Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2023.

Virat Kohli makes at No.3 in Ganguly?s squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 whereas Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav are the two middle-order batters in the team along with KL Rahul, whom he picked as first-choice keepers in the team. Rahul has been batting at No.5 for India and is expected to retain his place. 

Hardik Pandya along with Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are the three all-rounders in the side. Alongside the two left-arm spinners, Ganguly picked Kuldeep Yadav as the wrist spinner in the team whereas Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are the three pacers in his team for ICC World Cup 2023.
