Asia Cup 2023: Sourav Ganguly picks his Indian XI for the Asia Cup

It?s time for Asia?s biggest tournament as all the Asian heavyweights will be going up against each other in the Asia Cup 2023. The tournament will be played from 30th August to 17th September.  Out of 13 games, 4 games will take place in Pakistan whereas 9 games will be played in Sri Lanka. It?ll be great preparation for all of them to prepare themselves for the World Cup and get their combination right.

The Indian team will be one of the favourites to win the Asia Cup 2023. The squad looks pretty balanced and with injured players returning, it?s fair to say that it?ll be a massive boost for the team. They will open their campaign against Pakistan on 2nd September. 

With Asia Cup 2023 just around the corner, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has picked his Indian XI for the tournament. The ex-BCCI President backed skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill to open the innings in the event. Whereas Virat Kohli was slotted at No.3 by him. 

It?s fair to say that a lot will depend on the trio and if they clicked there are very chances India will lose. At No.4, he backed Shreyas Iyer. The batter will be making a comeback after a prolonged injury but ahead of his injury he was the backbone of the team and they would be hoping him to replicate the same.

Ravindra Jadeja was slotted at No.5 by Sourav Ganguly because of his left-hand batting whereas KL Rahul will keep the wickets and will bat at No.6 according to him. The former Indian cricketer then slotted  Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel at  No.7 and No.8 respectively. 

Kuldeep Yadav also makes the cut in Sourav Ganguly?s Indian XI for the Asia Cup 2023. But what surprised many was he only picked two frontline pacers in the team. Mohammed Siraj was dropped by him and instead, he went with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
