ICC Women's World Cup 2025: Points table after match 9, AUS vs PAK

Australia thrashed Pakistan by 107 runs in the ninth game of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 on Wednesday at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This was their second consecutive win in the tournament as they won the game easily despite being under pressure.

Australia had a solid 30-run opening stand with Alyssa Healy (20) and Phoebe Litchfield looking good at the top. However, the wicket of Healy triggered the Australian collapse as they lost wickets in clusters with Pakistan bowlers all over the opposition. 

Australia were left at 115 for eight, but it was Beth Mooney (109), who walked at four, and held the fort for the side despite wickets falling at the other end. Alana King (51*), at ten, supported her brilliantly as the duo added 106 for the last wicket. Thanks to their effort, Australia ended with 221 for nine, which at one stage seemed impossible as they were under massive pressure.  

Pakistan was expected to chase the target with ease. But Australian new-ball bowlers in Kim Garth and Megan Schutt oozed their class and left Pakistan reeling at 49 for six. Sidra Amin (35) looked good but it was only a matter of time before Australia got her wicket with the way they were bowling. 

Pakistan batters succumbed to pressure and no one apart from Sidra went past the 20-run mark. They got all out for 114 and lost the game by a massive margin of 107 runs.

After match 9, AUS vs PAK in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, Australia retained their top spot in the points table. England moved to second spot followed by India at three. Bangladesh is fourth are followed by South Africa at fifth, while Sri Lanka is sixth with one point. New Zealand and Pakistan are last with no wins.
