Since the past few days, there have been quite a few talks about the International Cricket Council (ICC) moving the T20 World Cup 2024 out of the West Indies and the United States of America (USA). The reason behind this was the poor progression of the infrastructure and some administration issues.

The reports also suggested that the governing body is keen to move the T20 World Cup 2024 to England, Ireland and Scotland. In the ICC’s FTP, West Indies along with the USA are scheduled to host the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 whereas England, Ireland and Scotland are slated to host England 2030 and it was learned that ICC is likely to swap the venues.

But as per the latest reports in Cricbuzz, International Cricket Council (ICC) have quashed off all the reports and have cleared the air related to the venue shift. They have made it clear that T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted in West Indies and USA and they have done venue inspections as well.

ICC spokesperson said that they have done all the planning for the event and there’s no possibility that the venue will be shifted for the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:

“Venue inspections have recently been concluded in both host territories, and planning for the event in June 2024 is in full swing. The 2024 event is scheduled for June, and the only other possible location is England.

“If someone were to ask the ECB if they can host in 2024, the answer would be crystal clear – they can’t. So, the possibility doesn’t even arise. Just a glance at the England venue fixtures for next year will confirm this to anyone observant enough.”
