ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Gautam Gambhir backs this young player to be part of the India squad for the tournament

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Indian Cricket Team hasn?t won the ICC trophy since 2013. They have come under a lot of scrutiny as they have faced 9 consecutive losses in the tournaments. Captains have changed but the result has been the same for them as they have failed to handle the pressure of big games. They would be hoping to end the drought as two ICC tournaments are in line for the next. 

Coming to the T20Is, since the loss in the T20 World Cup 2022, they have been giving young players a chance in the team and it?s fair to say that transition is happening in full place. It?s an opportunity for youngsters to showcase their talent at the global stage and make their case strong. 

One of the youngsters that have set the stage on fire is Yashasvi Jaiswal.  The southpaw took the IPL by storm. What was impressive was their fearless cricket which they showed and even in pressure situations, they held his nerves. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal outclassed many bowlers with his performance and also overshadowed the likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and others in his team. He ended as a leader and run-getter for the team and was the main behind their success this season. He scored 625 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 163.61. Also, he scored one hundred and 5 fifties this season.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Gautam Gambhir backs Yashasvi Jaiswal to be part for India squad for the tournament

With Yashasvi Jaiswal doing rounds around Indian cricket, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has backed him to be in the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament will take place during the month of July-July in USA and the Caribbean next year. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named in the Indian squad for the T20Is against West Indies and it?s expected that he will make his debut for the team. He made his Test debut recently and set the stage on fire after he smashed 171 runs and showed great potential.
