(6 November) ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets: The run rage is on and crossing all the limits this season. The World Cup 2023 has been a pinnacle of the World Cup Tournaments in terms of runs and records. Virat Kohli met a remarkable record of equalling the most numbers of ODI centuries of the Little master Sachin Tendulkar yesterday in the match against South Africa and is now the second-highest run scorer in the tournament till now. We present you the top 10 rankings of Players with the Most Runs and Most Wickets in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

India are on a golden run in this tournament. They have been outstanding with the bat and even better with the ball in their hands. It has been a total of three times when any team is bowled out under 100 runs and two times out of those three, it was done by an Indian bowling attack. First, they took Sri Lanka to hell, and then two days later, they took South Africa into remand. Most importantly, in both the matches, India have scored over 300 runs.

55-run all out to Sri Lanka on 2 November and 83-run all out to South Africa on 5 November, these two innings are definitely going to haunt Sri Lanka and South Africa for very long now. Birthday boy Virat Kohli weaved an excellent ton to equal Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 ODI Centuries record.

India won the toss against South Africa and opted to bat first which was a blinder. The Pitch was looking dry but really soft underneath which would allow spinners to boss in the second innings if there was no due. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided India a flying start. Rohit fell to Rabada following a good catch by Bavuma. It was the first time when Marco Jansen went wicketless in their first 10 overs while bowling. India added 90 runs in the first powerplay.

An absolute peach of the deliveries by Maharaj to Shubman took his bails off and India were 93 for 2 wickets down. Then the pitch started to slow down and only allowed Kohli and Iyer to add 34 runs in the next 10 overs but they kept their hold in there adding 134 runs for the 3rd wicket. Iyer got out at 77, Rahul got trapped in the crease, and Surya played a cameo but it was Jadeja who truly stayed there with Kohli to post an above-par score.

Virat completed his 49th century on his birthday and India posted a total of 327 runs on board which was a tough challenge for the best batting side in the tournament. Siraj drew the first blood in his first over and sent the best player of South Africa back to the pavilion. Jaddu was called early in the 9th over and he dismissed Temba Bavuma.

Indian bowler never allowed the Proteas batters to settle in the crease. Back-to-back wickets resulted in an epic collapse of South Africa which handed them an unwanted record of their lowest ODI World Cup total. India won the match by 243 runs and are at the top of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Points table.
