The original schedule had the match being played on October 15, but the ICC has moved it up by a day to avoid a clash with the Dussehra festival. The match will now be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is the same venue as the tournament opener between England and New Zealand.

It will be the eighth meeting between India and Pakistan at an ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 and the first time they have played each other in the tournament since 2019. The World Cup 2023 final will be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
