The Gujarat Titans will be looking to defend their title in the TATA IPL 2023. And in their defense, they will require some great performances. In the TATA IPL 2022 season, every cricket pundit was concerned about their squad as, on paper, the team didn’t look very lucrative. But when it came to performances, even the lesser-known players stood up when it mattered the most. The experience of David Miller came in handy, as did the magic of Hardik Pandya. Rashid Khan will be the key player for the Gujarat Titans, or for any team that he plays for. He is the best leg spinner in the world at white-ball cricket. Ever since making his debut in 2016, he has been dominating the IPL and all the leagues around the globe. There are a few things that work in his favor. He has a round arm action, which makes it difficult for the batter to pick his googly. He is very fast through the air. It means that the ball turns faster, giving the batter less time to pick it up.
Rashid will play for them and will also be their deputy captain. He will be an integral part of the leadership group. He has a lot of experience to share with the youngsters as well. Gujarat will use him in the powerplay to neutralize players like Rohit Sharma, who struggle against spin in the first few overs.
Rahul Tewatia will be the Key Player for Gujarat Titans in TATA IPL 2023:
Rahul Tewatia will have the responsibility of finishing the games. He hit two last-ball 6s last season to seal the games. In one of the games, 12 were required off the last two balls, and he hit both of them for sixes. A similar performance is expected this time around as well. He has to take the leadership role in the lower middle order.
Another good season with the bat can get him a national team call-up, as the Indian team always loves left-handers. He has a strike rate of 145+ in the last 5 overs. The Gujarat Titans expect him to bowl 2 to 3 good overs and give decent batting at number 6 or 7 to give the team the required balance. Here is a look at his stats:

Mohammed Shami will be a Key Player:
Mohammed Shami needs to silence all his critics through performance. He has done the same in the last season and will be looking to replicate it. Shami has received a clear indication from the BCCI, that the selection panel is looking at the future and he is very less likely to be considered for the shortest format. But the numbers and the performances do not reflect Shami’s age. He is aging like fine wine.
He was the top powerplay bowler last season alongside Umesh Yadav. Shami was swinging the ball and was also managing the toe-crushing yorkers. The Gujarat Titans will expect 3 good overs in the powerplay and one at the death from this senior pro. Here is a look at his stats:
