Gujarat Titans: Just like the league stage, the business end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been enthralling to the eyes as well. After 72 games and weeks full of entertainment, just three teams are left and one among with them will certainly have another title in the kitty. GT vs MI: 2 changes that Gujarat Titans might make for Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians

Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered a disappointing 15-run loss against Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 1. But thanks to their performance in the league stage, they have one more chance to go to the final. They will lock horns against Mumbai Indians on Friday (26th May) and would be wanting to rectify mistakes they made in the game against CSK. In this piece, we take a look at 2 changes that Gujarat Titans might make for Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians:

KS Bharat in place of Wriddhiman Saha

Wriddhiman Saha hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations this season. Gujarat Titans have been often losing wickets in the power play and the reason behind that has been Saha. The keeper-batter tries to take the bowlers to the cleaners and in the process has been losing his wickets.

However, in the big games in playoffs, this could put the team under pressure as was quite evident in the first game. On the other hand, KS Bharat has been on the sidelines since the first game and with the kind of ability he has his batting at the top of the order could be handy for the team in the game against Mumbai Indians and could be a great partner for Shubman Gill at the top.

Matthew Wade in place of Dasun Shanaka

In the last few games, Gujarat Titans have given the opportunity to Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka. The right-hander however has failed and hasn’t don’t justice to his spot in the team. Matthew Wade on the other hand played a pivotal role for the team in their title win last year but hasn’t found a place this time. With him being the match player and experienced as well, he might be in contention to replace Shanaka in the team. Also, GT are lacking a quality No.3 batter and it’s for to say that Wade can fill that void.
