English all-rounder Ben Stokes provide an update on his finger injury.

England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes on Monday provides a much-needed update on his finger injury. The cricketer posted a picture on social media of him holding his blade indicating signs of recovery from the injury.

Stokes underwent surgery last week to remove scar tissue from his left index finger which he broke during the India leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

On the social media post, Stokes wrote, “12th April broken finger. 11th October first time since breaking being able to get it round my handle.”

The dashing cricketer went through a hard time as he announced an indefinite break in July post which he hasn’t been active in any of the cricketing events. He missed out on a few important series for England due to his injury and indefinite break and is also all set to miss out on a few more.

Stokes indefinite break and injury forced the ECB selectors to omit him from the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the Ashes tour.

His last feature for England dated back in July when he was appointed as the skipper of the side for an ODI series against Pakistan after a covid outbreak in original England’s squad. He cut short his rehab break after ECB asked him to lead the ODI side with fairly young players.

England Cricket hasn’t named him in the forthcoming Ashes 2021-22 squad of England, which means that his rehab program and indefinite break will continue until December 2021 and January 2022.
