England vs Sri Lanka: England’s Jos Buttler ruled out for the entire series against Sri Lanka due to injury.

England vs Sri Lanka: England’s senior wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the entire limited-overs series against Sri Lanka after picking up a slight injury in the opening T20 game at Cardiff.

In the first game, Buttler scored unbeaten 68 to take his team over the line against Sri Lanka.

The next day, he was examined and underwent an MRI scan which revealed that he has a small tear due to which he will not be able to participate in the next couple of games.

“Buttler felt a tightness and discomfort at the end of the game after a match-winning 68 not out secured an eight wickets win,” said the statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday.

“He will return home today and commence his rehab programme,” said the statement.

David Malan has been added to the One Day Internationals (ODI) squad as the coverup of Buttler, starting June 29.

England is currently in a lead of 2-0 in three games T20I series against Sri Lanka. The hosts won both the initial games convincingly and sealed the T20I series.
